Since the device we commonly use to capture insects is called an aspirator, does that mean the insects we collect are aspirations?

I thought they were called ‘Pooters’ …
The item I most often collect with an aspirator is a sore throat…
Aspirators suck!
Very nice! And I had the same thought about pooters….
Pooters — And the captives, poots?
I’m sympathetic about the sore throat thing. I haven’t used an aspirator in years (yet do not lack for aspiration).
I’ve put away my aspirator ever since my friend sucked up some fungal spores or bacteria which grew in his lungs! He wound up in the ICU for a few days.
Aspirator or pooter? No, thanks.
